Lora Kight

Board Member

Lora Kight brings a wealth of expertise in law, counseling, and leadership to the board, with a distinguished career spanning legal practice, corporate counsel, and nonprofit governance. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University (1986), a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas (1988), and a Juris Doctorate from Emory University (1993).

Lora began her career in counseling and student affairs, serving as a Residence Hall Director at the University of Tampa from 1988 to 1990 before transitioning into law. She practiced at the law firm of Troutman Sanders from 1993 to 1997, then served as Assistant General Counsel at Rock-Tenn Company from 1997 to 2000, where she provided legal counsel on corporate matters.

Beyond her professional career, Lora is deeply committed to community service and nonprofit leadership. She served as Secretary of the Board of the Samaritan Counseling Center of Atlanta and has been an active leader at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, taking on various roles, including as an elder. She is also a member of Impact100 Atlanta, an organization dedicated to collective philanthropy and community impact.

Originally from Pendleton, Indiana, Lora now resides in Atlanta with her husband, Rob Kight, and their two daughters. She remains passionate about using her legal and counseling expertise to support organizations that create meaningful change.
